For many long years Bilbo Baggins kept safe the One Ring of Sauron even though he, at that time, had no inkling of the trinket's true power. True of heart though he was, so great is the corrupting influence of the Ring that even Bilbo begins to slowly fall under its evil spell. In his wisdom, Gandalf bids the gentle old Hobbit to let the Ring be passed to his nephew Frodo. Finally relenting, Bilbo does as asked and takes his leave, retiring to Rivendell. It was there, much later, that Bilbo sees the Ring again, and it draws out of the frail old man a frightening response that even he never expected.
There’s nothing wrong with this figure. It’s articulated enough and has a decent headsculpt. The only thing I would say is it does mean we don’t have a Bilbo in his more iconic look where he just wears a vest over a shirt rather than the jacketed look which is more outdoors or a travelling look. Personally I swapped one of these figures heads and legs with a traveling Bilbo and painted the waistcoat red with gold buttons and that did the trick. Going the actual figure itself is another nice addition to anyone’s collection nothing special but I can’t find any real faults with it, though an alternative head would have been a cool idea to have a normal Bilbo but that’s a more modern concept I suppose....[See More]
