Jason Voorhees is equipped with a machete and enchanted dagger, and is accompanied by the serpentine demon of the Voorhees essence. At the outset of the film, Jason is ambushed by FBI operatives and is bombarded until he explodes. Jason's fragmented remains are taken to a secure forensics lab, where Jason's disembodied heart mesmerizes the coroner into ingesting it. Jason possesses the coroner, and leaps into other inferior bodies before his essence is revealed to be a demonic creature. Once it is divulged by inordinately-knowledgeable bounty hunter Creighton Duke that Jason can only be killed by another Voorhees, Jason's monstrous default form is reconstituted. Jason is subsequently pitted against his niece, the latter equipped with the enchanted dagger.
