King Varian Wrynn was kidnapped and, after escaping, almost drowned and became amnesiac. He was taken by a caravan and enslaved as a gladiator, where he met his fellow gladiators Broll Bearmantle and Valeera Sanguinar. After the trio emerged victors of the Crimson Ring tournament, he was dubbed "Lo'Gosh" (Ghost Wolf).
