Validus is the muscle of the Fatal Five. His mind is very primitive, but he compensates with brute force and rays he shoots from his brain.

Validus' origin was a mistery until Darkseid kidnapped Garridan, one of the twin children of Lightning Lad and Saturn Girl, transformed him into Validus, and sent him some years to the past, to his first clashes with the Legion. After finding that Validus was Garridan, he was eventually turned back to normal.

Validus' place in the Fatal Five was taken by Mordecai.
