Scientists rought a baby of an unknown species to prehistoric Krypton, where they had him killed once and again, only to re-clone him to have him evolve into a creature that would change to resist whatever had just killed him. The final result was Doomsday, who killed his creators and traveled through space with only destruction in mind. Upon reachin Earth, Doomsday defeated the Justice League and continued towards Metropolis, but Superman stopped him in a battle that resulted in a mutual kill.
