PROFILE: Data is a unique android with a fully functioning positronic brain. He originated in the lab of the Federation's most brilliant cybernetics expert, Dr. Noonian Soong. Found by the crew of the U.S.S. Tripoli, he and his twin android 'brother' Lore are the only ones of their kind. He graduated from the Academy in 4 years at the rank of Ensign, then was promoted to Lieutenant (JG). After 10 years of exemplary service, he was promoted to Lieutenant Commander.
