Worf's Klingon heritage has instilled him with dedication to service and infused him with a sense of honor and duty. For his exemplary performance while an officer of Starfleet, and for his continual progress in leadership during demanding times, Lieutenant Commander Worf was recently invited to a holodeck program, which showcased a magnificent, swashbuckling pirate adventure. During the simulation, Worf's crew members offered him their congratulations. Indeed, this exercise was really an invocation for Worf's promotion to Lieutenant Commander. After receiving his honorable advancement, the holodeck program was aborted due to a distress call from the Armagossa Observatory. The science facility was under attack for unknown reasons. Worf, along with Captain Picard and Riker, took command of the situation and orchestrated an emergency evacuation of the observatory.
