A former Ranger School instructor, BEACHHEAD is a highly motivated individual with a high pain threshold, a moderate temperament, and a low tolerance for under-achievers. A qualified expert with all NATO and former Warsaw Pact small arms, he is also authorized to wear the master explosive ordnance disposal badge, the combat infantryman's badge, and the good conduct medal with oak leaf clusters. BEACHHEAD likes to be the first one out of the helicopter on a combat assault because he knows that he can provide the best covering and suppressive fire to allow the rest of his team to deploy safely. He is rumored to have a collection of spike-knuckled trench knives almost as extensive as those belonging to SNAKE EYES.

DR. MINDBENDER was once a kindly dentist who experimented on himself to find a way to lessen dental pain through brainwave stimulation. As a result, he underwent a complete personality change causing him to devote his life to evil and the complete suppression of humanity by electronic mind-control. After he joined COBRA, DR. MINDBENDER improved and perfected the "brainwave scanner" invented by the nefarious Dr. Venom, and used that device to brainwash anybody who opposed the policies of COBRA COMMANDER or neglected to brush after meals

Meticulous and fussy, DR. MINDBENDER is the type of person who eats pizza with a knife and fork. He has been known to participate in battles, but prefers to manipulate events from behind the scenes, preferably inside a bulletproof bunker. Independent thinkers with strong personalities give DR. MINDBENDER the hives, which is why he has had a long-standing personal antagonism towards BEACH HEAD.
