When man-power was almost entirely wasted on the battlefields, the Cigar-Smoking-Men decided to reuse their fallen soldiers, turn them into something bigger, stronger, uglier. Cyber Units were mass-produced by all the world's warring factions and equipped with more fire-power than a Texan. They were sent back into the fray to pick-up where they left off. If you can't win the war for the planet, then you might as well destroy it.
