The green ogre Shrek lived a nice quiet life in his home in the swamps...until all the other fairytale creatures were dumped off there. Annoyed by the squatters taking root outside his house, Shrek set off to see Lord Farquaad, ruler of the kingdom of Duloc. There he struck a deal, he would rescue the Princess Fiona from the dark castle, bring here back and Lord Farquaad would remove his pest problem. Setting off with his trusty bum er donkey, Shrek has begun his quest to rid himself of the new problems. In the end though, Shrek may feel different about the way things are turning out...especially after he learns how well Farquaad plans to keep the deal!
