Reptile with Dragon MK-1 Vehicle
Mortal Kombat (Hasbro) - Vehicles
Rated 4.50 stars by TheGreyGoose
Reptile, like all the other ninja from this series, is simply a repainted kit bash. I for one have no problem with this. For a kit bash it's quite good, it bears a pretty good likeness, and the differences translate perfectly into GI Joe format. He has differences to Sub Zero in that his eyes are just a flat, demonic white, like Scorpion's. This is pretty cool because while this wasn't how he looked in the games, it looks better than regular eyes and adds a good demonic effect to the figure. There really isn't anything not to like about him, although while it may just be my figure, the joints are a bit stiff and it can get is the way a litle, yet you can still pull off all the great dynamic poses without much trouble. Since Reptile is my favorite Mortal Kombat character, I must say that...[See More]
Sub-Zero
Mortal Kombat (Jazwares) - Series 1 - Deception
Rated 5.00 stars by TheGreyGoose
Alright, to put it in as few words as possible, Sub-Zero is the best figure out of all of Jazwares Mortal Kombat figures, Deception and Shaolin Monks combined. His sculpt it flawless, and like the other figures, his paint varies, but for him it tends to be more good than bad. His accessory is always there. His Ice sword, it fits well in his hand, and unlike Scorpion's sword, this accessory is just as "cool" (lol I made an ice pun, eat it Schwarzennager) as his freeze prop from his special move. I had another one of these in considerably worse condition, and I was surprised to find that when you peel off the paint, his base is the same as his comic con exclusive Cold Snap figure. I think my only complaint is that without his sword in his hand, he always looks like he's giving a thumbs up,...[See More]

Black Canary
DC Infinite Heroes (Mattel) - Wave 4
Rated 1.00 stars by TheGreyGoose
All right, so so far, the Infinite Heroes line has failed to impress me all that much, with the exception of a select few. Unfortunately for me, and others who may or may not like her, Black Canary continues this trend of mediocrity. While unlike other figures, her torso can rotate, her waist can't. Her legs do that weird thing where they turn diagonally so it's pretty difficult to pose her any other way than just standing up. To make things worse, her shoulders aren't ball jointed, I guess it's so her jacket can look better, and for some unexplainable, inexcusable reason, her arms don't bend. Like most Infintie Heroes her paint apps differ from figure to figure, but the one I have has pretty shoddy paint, and I think I could probably do better myself. Her face looks, well, her face looks...[See More]

Green Lantern (Hal Jordan)
DC Infinite Heroes (Mattel) - Wave 4
Rated 3.50 stars by TheGreyGoose
Well, in an attempt to bulk up my flimsy DC (I should really say Batman) collection, I bought some non-Batman Infinite Heroes, and with them only going for a dollar at Ross (5 for 3 packs) I knew where to get them. Well, Hal Jordan, being my favorite Green Lantern, was a must have for me, now I've only bought one Infinite Hero before, but I knew what to expect. The paint apps are slightly sloppy, but less so than with MUs, even though the articulation isn't as impressive. He reuses the same body everyone has, to the point where his ring is painted on. But even with all this mediocrity, Hal Jordan makes for a pretty good Green Lantern fig. He can pull off some pretty decent Green Lantern-esque poses, and for what I paid for him, I really can't complain. But the bottom line is, that while...[See More]
Green Arrow
DC Infinite Heroes (Mattel) - Wave 4
Rated 4.00 stars by TheGreyGoose
Green Arrow isn't my favorite character, but it's not like I don't like him, however, Green Arrow is probably the best Infinite Hero I've bought so far. He has an original sculpt, instead of the same reused one with few sculpted materials, and unlike evry Infinite Hero I've ever seen, He has an accesory, his bow, but thena gain, you'd expect himt o come with it, because if you didn't it just wouldn't be Green Arrow. His articvulation is the standard for DC Infinite Heroes. Ball jointed shoulders, swivel waist, double hitched knees, but sadly, the legs only go about 90 degrees. My main complaint about this figure is that his bow doesn't stay in his hand very well, but like most problems of that kind, it can be solved with a simple elastic. my other complaint is that even though he has an...[See More]
Venom
Spider-Man Origins (Hasbro) - Series 2
Rated 1.00 stars by TheGreyGoose
Wow, that's alll I can say about this amazingly horrible Venom figure. Don't get me wrong, there's been worse, but this closer to the bottom than the top. Venom has horrible articulation, his legs move in a slant, like you're supposed to squeeze his leg, but he does nothing. His waist only turns in one direction, and in addition to the fact that his arms are underarticulated, his hands are in a horrible position, so it looks like he's choking you and pointing to something at the same time. I think my least favorite part of this figure is the horrific paint apps. They do the same thing the do on MU Black spiderman, they add a blue tint, however, they do it all blochy, where it goes from dark blue in one area to sky blue in another. And just like all figures with his kind of head, there's a...[See More]
Spider-Man (Iron)
Spider-Man Origins (Hasbro) - Series 2
Rated 5.00 stars by TheGreyGoose
Spider-man has worn many temporary costumes over his long career, however, the Stark Armor has to eb my absolute favorite, I think that the waldoes (the little arms on his back, yes, they're called waldoes) are what make it so cool, like you finally have the sense he's a "Spider" man. This figure is everything Hasbro's Marvel Legends should be, modern, cool, and well articulated. That's right, well articulated. Iron Spider, in addition to the standard HML points, has articulation in his fingers, individually, the way Toy Biz used to do it, his waldoes are also pretty felxible too. There's nothing you can say you don't like about this figure, however, I have the translucent variant, and it's not as cool as the metallic one, and the difference is noticeable, I look at the pictures side by...[See More]

Captain America
Marvel Universe - Fury Files (Hasbro) - Wave 2
Rated 3.50 stars by TheGreyGoose
So Captain America isn't a character I follow closely, in fact, I've never read a single comic with his name on it. However, saying I don't like him is far from the truth. I don't know what it is, he's just, cool. So I found his figure at ToysRus and being a big fan of the new 3 3/4 figures I had to have him. He has the same shield that you would expect, with rubber straps for his back and a plastic wristband to hook it to his arm, articulation is the standard MU as well. The one thing I don't like about this is the fact that it's Ultimate Cap. One of my favorite things about Captain America is his 616 costume, I don't care what you say, it's freaking amazing. Sadly, his Ultimate incarnation doesn't quit hav the same sensee of style. Everything about this figure is good, but I wish I knew...[See More]
Silver Surfer
Marvel Universe - Fury Files (Hasbro) - Wave 1
Rated 5.00 stars by TheGreyGoose
So I've been lusting after this figure for a while, and I finally got him. Silver Surfer is everything you want a Marvel Universe figure to be. His sculpt is pretty basic, but he really doesn't have anything that should stand out in terms of body type. His paint apps are probably the best I've seen from this line, he's shiny and unlike Black Spider-man the tint works well with the base coat. His surfboard looks great too, unlike other surfboards it's perfectly proportioned, rather than too big or just an elongated oval. His articulation is prett solid, and you can pose him in any way you want and he'll seem pretty in character. I only have one complaint and that's that he doesn't come with some sort of cosmic blast accessory. Iron Man came with a little tornado blast, even that repainted...[See More]
Rorschach (Masked)
Watchmen (DC Direct) - Series 1
Rated 4.00 stars by TheGreyGoose
Rorschach is one of my favorite DC characters, and I was elated to see he finally got a figure. Sadly, this doesn't quite meet expectations. I wouldn't go as far to call this an action figure as much as a statue with articulation. Which is pretty much what it is. And with that in mind, he's actually pretty cool. The only problem with that is that his pose is kind of, um, I think the perfect word would be, strange. His legs are funny looking, his arms look like he was ready to go beat up some thugs if his legs would let him, and his head is tilted in a way that says "you really think I'm gonna buy that?" pretty sarcastic and out of character. This figure has some great paint apps and details though, as I can't spot a single mistake or stray mark, and if he was in a better pose, he would be...[See More]
