Earlier tonight I'll give you a harsh comment about this movie because I didn't like this movie too much. This is a comic film and based on the Green things...

I’m not into movies but I’m just curious about this one. What Green Lantern’s all about? Is it a good movie? Thanks in advance!

Yo I saw the movie twice in theaters and can anyone tell me where John stewart was in the movie because on imdb there is a guy listed as playing him but there was only a few guys that kinda looked like him in the actual movie in quick shots nothin actually focused on that there was a John Stewart.
Just wondering if anyone else noticed that.
All In all it was a great movie I enjoyed it.

I loved it, actually saw it twice in one day. It was by no means perfect but it was certainly a lot fun and it never took itself too seriously which was good and refreshing. I liked Ryan Reynolds as Hal Jordan, very witty and charming yet he still had a seriousness about what he was doing as a Green Lantern. Favorite performance by far was Mark Strong as Sinestro, really excited about a possible sequel.

I think people are holding this film to the same standards as The Dark Knight and Spider-Man 2 and that isn't fair. Those were very serious films (Spidey could've afforded some of the humor and charm from GL) and this film was more fun. I enjoyed it and would give it a 75 out of 100.

JUST got done watching this movie. My thoughts? Hold on ladies, this might be a long one. (yes, you can quote that out of context.)

Over all, I enjoyed the plot. Not a lot can be said about it. Same characters in the same story that we've all seen in all sorts of media. Basically it's Hal's origin. For those of you who have never heard of the Green Lantern, or only know him as a blonde guy with a cape, I suppose it's a good way to begin learning about the GL Corps. However, I personally am getting tired of origin stories. Wolverine, Batman, Daredevil, Batman, Green Hornet, Batman, Iron Man, X-Men, Hulk, Spiderman, Superman, Hulk, Batman... We get it already! However, I thought that although an origin story, the plot was engaging enough and grabbed my attention for a couple hours.
One of the MOST annoying things in all superhero movies is the sappy, unnecessary love story. I'm not gonna get into it much more than it seemed like two 2-dimensional characters being thrust together by no-other attraction than bad, predictable writing. Of course, not everything about a sappy love story is bad... For example, because of it there is some eye-candy for you to look at if you get tired of action sequences.

The special effects... Sorry the "special" effects were... "meh" at best. Nothing groundbreaking. Hal's head seemed to bob around in the suit, nothing appeared tangible, and there were hardly any practicle effects to be found. CGI bugs me a bit. It all seems a bit, well, fake. Although not groundbreaking, they were certainly passable.
Character Designs seemed too complex. I'd love to see a white gloved, comic Hal in a live action movie, but they strayed too far with the designs, like comic book movies almost always do. There's no real contrast in the suit. and makes it a bit uninteresting... Much like the shadow-covered backgrounds.

Although I still say the characters were a bit "flat", the actors were quite brilliantly cast. Sinestro was almost exactly as I always imagined he'd be in real life. Ryan Reynolds has always been a good choice for Hal, and a great actor, and I feel like he played a convincing unexperienced Hal Jordan. I can't wait how his portrayal changes as Hal's attitude changes.

I read a review on this movie last night. It recieved 1.5 stars. Despite its faults, it's still an enjoyable movie, and an alright depiction of the Green Lantern. It didn't deserve that few of stars. After much consideration, I'd give this... 3-ish stars...? IDK... This is the part I don't like about reviews.
I'd go see it. It's worth your time. I probably will buy this movie eventually, but I'll be waiting till it's reduced in price. Once again, I cannot say enough how simply okay I am with this movie. heh heh...

Make sure you don't leave when the credits start rolling. There's a tag that is most definatley worth seeing. I got goosebumps.

3-ish stars out of five

O.K, I don't read a lot of Green Lantern books so if somebody wants to correct me go ahead cause this is just my opinion.....I think the ending of the GL movie will end with Hal defeating Parallax and the GL Corps will somehow find a way to keep him contained ( rumor has it that Parallax will take over some members of the Core, including Sinestro, I think Sinestro will enjoy what he feels when taken over ) with Parallax contained at the end Sinestro will have either made a deal with Parallax or find some way to use him while contained as the power source for the Yellow Element thus starting the Yellow Lanterns for the sequel
