How big is your collection... NOW?

Posted in Action Figure Chatter

I just had a thought that my collection differs from when I was a child, seems obvious, but what I mean is my LOTR collection for example was significantly smaller in my child life and then I got rid of it all and now I have more than before, but still 2 figures I used to have I lack. On the flipside I have aover the top sized Star Wars collection that I have never downsized and it will get larger after I see Episode VII I am sure. My Marvel collection is larger, but not in number sense but in cahracter sense. I have too many Marvel universe figures that I don't even use, probably gonna sell them all save a few, and I have a reasonable Marvel Legends collection and the odd 5 inch figure from the Spiderman animated series. I prefer 6inch figures now compared to my youth self, thats probably because I prefer detail and articulain with less gimics than I did, but Star WArs will always be 3.75 inches for me. Lego lets not go there its a lot, mainly Star Wars. Halo is interesting becasue I had played sme Halo games and jsut loved the look of Spartans, so I custmised a load of lego minifigs to look like Master Chief and Spartans etc, but I bought Hazop twin pack out of liking Red V Blue, now my collection is moderate in a shoe box overflowing with Spartans, Master Chief variants and Covenant characters. I have a very small DC collection. I do not enjoy DC as much as Marvel, but what I do love is BATMAN. I am looking forward to any new Batman figures from the Bat v Supes film, but not excited about the film as I hated Man of Steel. I am lookign forward to Batman kicking the crap out of supes (if they use the material from the Dark Knight Returns) I do want them to team up as well though. So my DC collection is basically a Batman from each Nolan film, Heath Ledger Joker, Bane from DKR, Scarecrw from Arkham Asylum becasue that was the best design of him ever and then some Batman and Robin figures from the 95 film. Spaceships, vehicles and others are limited really because I have liek 4-5 Star Wars ships and Vehicles (Slave 1, Tie-Fighter, Speeder, Tie Advanced, Vulture Droid, Obi-Wans Jedi intercepter, Sith Infiltrator, Naboo Starfighter and some others I can't remember) and I have a lot of Star Wards Dioramas, but I find that you always end up making your own. My favourite playset as a child was the skyrider playset, but then as a child I mainly had loads of Spidey's and little to no villians. Pretty sure the only one I had in Legends scale was Morbius, but thats a spiderman classics and Venom in 5 inch scale. so really its down to online shopping as an older bloke that I have access to anything now lol. WHAT ABOUT YOU MR/MRS/MS/MISS (INSERT NAME HERE) WHAT COLLECTION DO YOU HAVE AND DO YOU HAVE MORE OR LESS OF PARTICULAR THINGS NOW THAT YOU ARE OLDER?

I seem to be stockpiling wrestlers lately lol. I don't know why I suddenly felt the need to own Molly Holly (yes I do *waggles eyebrows*)

Got rid of mostly everything else since I don't make photo comics anymore :/

If there were a modern Biker Mice From Mars line, I'd get the figs and their bikes. But part of me knows they'd be made in an ugly 80s aesthetic, like motuc, so I'd pass lol

I probably have way too much. I just found out this site allows me to log what I have after using their software for so long. I have close to 2,000 figures/vehicles/playsets. I really need to cut back, but I cannot figure out what I want to cut out. I love everything I buy...lol. G.I.Joe is my main series. Only lack about 25 pieces to have the entire 82-94 run. Transformers is a close 2nd with He-man. Good bit of Star Wars as well.

Hmmmmm....I'd say over close to 300 3.75 G.I. JOE figures, 150 3.75 Marvel Universe, 60 Marvel Legends, and 30 of other, Some say I got too much

I class my current collection as 'growing'. My childhood collection consisted of collections. I would have mostly received sets of toy lines. I am still very much collecting sets but very specific. Tmnt, 1988 10 back carded line for instance. I currently have 5 out of 10 of these. My intitial interest is in moc action figures.

My "collection" was much larger when I was a child. My TMNT stuff by itself was impressive. Of course, calling it a collection is disingenuous because I wasn't so much collecting stuff as getting more toys to play with.
