I'm not sure how this was on the old site, but I've noticed that forum/customizing profiles seem to be totally separate from Got Plot creator profiles, which seems strange to me. Shouldn't those be linked so users can immediately see everything another user has done? It also seems strange that--unlike with most forums--there doesn't seem to be an option to see what specific posts/comments a particular user has made. (tbh I mostly find this useful in tracking my own posts, because I don't see an option for that either.)...[See More]

Okay, I see that now, but I don't think there's a way to get from Got Plot back to a user's main profile. Unless I'm missing something, clicking a person's username in Got Plot only displays their Got Plot contributions without linking back to their main profile.

Sorry, not sure I understand the Profile question. There is only one "Public Profile" for the entire site. It will show everything that the user has submitted to the website: Customs, Got Plots, Comic Strips, etc.

Showing comments by user is something that is on the list to look into adding. However, since the forums is now an integrated part of the website, it would most likely show all the user's comments anywhere on the site, not just the forums

Maybe she means how if we browse comics and click a person's name, we only get shown more of their comics, instead of showing everything they've made, as if we were viewing their entire public profile.

Unfortunately there's not a way for you to see the entries until they are displayed for voting. You'll just have to let a Regulator know at that time if an entry doesn't actually qualify for the contest.

Sorry if this is a dumb question--I feel like I'm just sort of fumbling around (here specifically and in customizing generally) trying to figure stuff out, but I haven't seen anything about this in the FAQ or in any of the site areas where it might be relevant. So--I see that HTML and links aren't allowed in the Custom Showcase, primarily to prevent people from using it as advertising for stuff they're selling. What about elsewhere? Links don't seem to be allowed in profiles or in Got Plot, probably for the same reason (although it's fine to connect an eBay account to profiles, so it seems like other links would be okay too), and there don't seem to be any options for HTML or other kinds of formatting, although I'm not sure about that. It's not a dumb question at all and there is no easy answer. I can only reply with some comments.

HTML is definitely not allowed anywhere on the website. No website should allow users to input HTML because that is a big security risk.

Links are allowed in a few areas of the website, but not most. ...

It's a resource / website stability issue. Performing a search is expensive in terms of server resources. If we don't require a user to be signed in to perform the search, then every bot, crawler, spammer, etc on the web can also do the searches. At any given time, there's usually dozens of some sort of bot on the website. We don't want them hitting the search features and bringing down the website.
