The Omniplate - A universal action figure stand [UPDATED 7/27] in Action Figure Chatter by Henchmen4Hire
Thursday, June 21, 2018
   [Edit]
Due to different foot sizes and how action figures are manufactured, the holes in their feet can vary in size. This means a poor fit can happen even within the same toy line while using the same stands.

To address this, here's my idea for figure stands that should be compatible with almost any action figure.

The plates connect to the foot holes with a removable, slotted peg. Either end can be plugged into either the figure or the plate so the best combination can be used for any situation.

There are several holes in the plates, making this a modular system that can adapt to any figure.

This plate provides stability for figures that are standing upright. It's designed to allow both the figure's f...[See More]

I use bbq skewers ( large wooded tooth picks ) cut to size and glued in a pre-drilled pilot hole.....fits most Marvel legends and black series starwars figures.

A Great Design to cut out all the different bases! We've got a lot of varying bases of size and shapes in our collection; anything from the bases coming with the figures to store bought and even metal washers with small magnets pushed into the figures heel holes. A universal base would definitely cut out all of that!

Yep, that's the plan.

I'm going to test all the heel holes in my figs and see if there's a pattern. I'll be using a LEGO rod, which is exactly 3.18mm.

I saw a vid with the magnets and metal washers, looks neat though I think you would have to spray the washers with specialty sealer to prevent rust. Plastic stands should be cheaper and have the added benefit of being available in clear plastic.
More reason never to pay retail price for figures in Action Figure Chatter by Henchmen4Hire

   [Edit]
Got a Harley Quinn from the Arkham Knight line, new, but at a good discount. It's an okay figure, suffering from the same stretched out lanky body syndrome found on other female DC Collectibles figures. And of course there are the quality issues.

[Picture]

There's a fingerprint melted into the paint and a flat deformed spot on the forearm. Terrible.

That's not what bothers me most though, the bigger issue is if you get defective figures then you're screwed. DC won't take responsibility for their junky figures unless you got them directly from their online store. You'll have to return them to the store you bought them from otherwise, assuming they take returns.

Seems sh*tty to me, but I don't see anything changing s...[See More]

Question; Is it JUST me, or does it seem like the prices people are asking for figures on the used market, in general, have gone up substantially as of late? Perusing Ebay the last couple of months it seems even old, crappy figures people could barely give away less than a year ago are now at least double what they were before. Am I overlooking a seasonal spike I wasn't aware of? Could it be a result of the Toys R Us closure? Or have people just lost their freakin' minds? Granted, I'm mostly looking at Marvel Legends, but seems it's not as easy to find deals and bargains, especially when it comes to female figures.

I've been going through a similar mindset regarding in-store toys whose BAFs have been stolen/replaced with inferior parts. I recently saw three separate toys that had the BAFs replaced with broken parts of a Spiderman 3 black spiderman. I alerted the store about the issue, and next time I visited the store, they were back on the shelf at full price.
Metal Titanfall Weapons for 6in. and 3.75in. Figures in Action Figure Chatter by Henchmen4Hire

   [Edit]
I totally forgot I bought these a while ago on clearance at Game Stop, they were $2 a pop. I was hoping they were 6-inch scale and well...

Some are, some aren't. Here's a pic with 6-inch Star Wars figures. The sub-machineguns look really nice, but the sniper is very small, looking a lot better with 3.75in. G.I. Joe figures.

[Picture]

[Picture]

They're blind-box metal guns, and I'm not surprised they were on clearance because the retail asking price was godamn ridiculous.

Here's a video showing the other guns in the series.

So if you find them cheap, they're definitely worth picking up.

I will say though, I don't understand why the detail is "soft...[See More]

Hi,

I've been searching on the web and all I found is about customization of american action figures (like DC and stuff like that). I'm new in this world of figure customization and I want to do some details on a japanese action figure (Brand: Megahouse, Type: Variable Action Heroes), I just want to add blood and wounds details on the figure.

I would appreciate any help. Thanks...[See More]

It doesn't matter where the figure is from (they're all made in china anyway), they can all be modified in the same ways.

Check out our tutorials section: http://www.figurerealm.com/customtutorial

For wounds, you can try using a nail file to cut into the figure to create gashes, then paint as needed. Look up images of wounds to use as a reference. ...
I need some advice about 16 Famous cover figures I have. in Action Figure Chatter by wordgirl
Wednesday, June 13, 2018
   [Edit]
Hi, there, Today I just unearthed 16 Famous Cover action figures that have been in a box in my basement for the last 12.5 years. I'd like to sell them. they are all in mint condition, still in their boxes. All were bought around 1998 or 1999, I'm guessing. I could put up a list if that is helpful, but can anyone advise me about selling them? I'd like to do so in a set if possible. Thank you in advance for any help you might be able to give me....[See More]

Looks like they go for about $10 to $20, with a little more for shipping.

I say put them all up in a lot, I don't think they're worth enough to keep that much "stock" in your home lol

If you're wanting to get an idea of how much they're worth my suggestion would be to check prices on Ebay, filtering search results to only show completed listings will give you a better idea of which figures have sold (and a range of what they've sold for) and those that haven't.

If I still had any passion left, I would contact that guy and ask for a goofy interview. I think at the very least we might get some insight to how he made such good looking custom packages.

Considering there are 7 billion people on this planet, I'm not surprised that at least a handful of them would want to buy this kind of stuff.
Power Rangers Hasbro in Action Figure Chatter by Cyngen80
Sunday, April 29, 2018
   [Edit]
I am huge power rangers fan and I see a lot of potential that hasbro could have on the toy line and I am curious as to how others feel about it?

For me I hope they go the marvwl legends route.6 inch figures and there could be a wave that has build a figures and the BaF could be villians like zedd or goldar.

What's everyones thoughts on it?...[See More]

Have any links showing the figs? Was this announced recently?

In general, I wish the BAF concept would go away, and just buy the BAF figure as a standalone. If every figure in a wave is amazing then I have no problem buying the whole wave to get a BAF. But that's not what happens, especially not with Hasbro. They put out one or two great figs and the rest are filler, reusing bodies to save money at the same time they keep raising prices to keep profits rising.

I think I'm too idealistic for the toy business. I wish I knew more about how it works, what the costs are, but everyone is tight lipped about that stuff. So I have to assume they're ripping us off and want to stay hush hush about it, making me cynical. But I digress. ...
